About the Accommodation

Both apartments together are suitable for 4 to 8 persons. The apartments are located in a terraced house on the highest point of the small village of Raposeira, south / west coast of the Algarve, in the middle of a nature reserve between Sagres and Lagos, where you can enjoy your holiday with your family or a few good friends, and no one can disturb you. There is private parking for several cars, so no problem if you arrive by car. We recommend you to rent a car, as you can reach the many attractive places easily and independently.

The apartments have two living-dining rooms, two spacious bedrooms, two bathrooms, two fully equipped kitchens, free WiFi and TV, a terrace and a balcony with a magnificent view over the valley, as well as a barbecue, tables, chairs and deckchairs.

The living rooms have comfortable sofa beds that can be converted into a bed with a mattress (160 cm wide). The kitchens are equipped with refrigerator, stove, oven, dishwasher, washing machine and everything else you need. There is a bedroom and a sofa bed in each apartment, so there are 8 sleeping places, a cot can be added if required. The apartments each have a bathroom with WC, bidet and bathtub.

The upper apartment has a balcony, the lower apartment a terrace. Deckchairs, dining tables, chairs and barbecue are available so that you can enjoy your meals and drinks outside. Balcony and terrace are south facing, so you have sun all day long and an unobstructed view of the valley and the sea on the horizon.

If you are attracted to the beach, you can reach countless beautiful beaches from Raposeira in no time, such as Zavial (6.8 km, 12 min by car), Ingrina, Furnas, Figueira or Salema (6.7 km, 9 min by car). If you are a surfer, you can choose whether you like the wave from the south or the west, the coastal section around Sagres is a true surfer's paradise.

If you want to go out, there's plenty to do in the Raposeira area. Raposeira itself is a very small typical village of the Algarve with some bars and restaurants, a very good pizzeria and a small supermarket ( 1.1 km, 15 min walk ). Nearby is the town of Villa do Bispo ( 2 km, 3 min by car), a small town with many good fish restaurants that you should definitely visit. There is also a large supermarket, a pharmacy and other practical shops.

The next bigger place is Sagres ( 9 km, 8 min by car), a very relaxed beach town, surrounded by many beautiful beaches, a lighthouse, a historical fortress, markets and a small harbour and many different bars and restaurants, there is something for every taste. There is also a large supermarket, various surf shops and many other shops.

Pets can also be brought on request.

Neighbourhood

Raposeira is a small, still very Portuguese village between Lagos and Vila do Bispo. Although the village is open to tourism and welcomes guests, the attentive visitor can still feel the old tradition of Portugal: people who like to take care of themselves and give away the fruits of their garden. Those who love their sardines for lunch and continue their daily lives as ever without demonizing the lifestyles of other cultures. In Raposeira it is still possible in a wonderful way to reconcile old and new attitudes to life.

The idyllic village location of our holiday apartment offers peace and Portuguese ambience with immediate availability of shopping facilities and restaurants. We rent privately. Tourist centres are nearby. We recommend a rental car to really get to know the Algarve, because nowhere else than in this region are there so many partly undeveloped and picturesque beaches, both in the rather protected south and on the eventful west coast.

Transport

The nearest airport is Faro, about 100 km (1 hour) away. You can also arrive via Lisbon, spend an exciting day in the city and then head south along the beautiful coastline. The journey from the airport to Raposeira takes 2 hours 52 minutes (315.0 km) via the A2.

Coming from Faro, take the motorway towards Portimao and exit at Vila do Bispo at the end of the motorway. Then direction Vila do Bispo approx. 20 km to Raposeira...

In the winter months Faro, the nearest airport (travel time from Faro 1 hour), is not always approached by all airlines. Other options are Lisbon or Seville. By car it takes about 3 hours to reach Raposeira. A short stay in one of the two cities is also worthwhile in any case!
